My first guess is that the number of FReepers commenting positively on Trump is due to the fact that he seems like the only person willing to (metaphorically) thump on the president. All of the so-called “leaders” in the Republican ranks cave at the first sign of friction.

No, I do not think he is the right person for 2012. I'm just observing the world from my small patch of it.

It's not that Trump is going after Obama. The reaction comes from Trump getting MAJOR MEDIA ATTENTION going after Obama.

There are a bunch of conservatives tearing into Obama but THEY CANNOT GET PRESS.

In America, you are nobody unless or until the MEDIA says you are somebody.

Many conservatives have raised the same Obama failings being raised by Trump but TRUMP IS A MEDIA FIGURE.

Those posting on this site are just as easy to manipulate by the media as any every-day citizen.

Trump is not a conservative but he is getting the "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" treatment.
