I’ve long figured that “familiarity breeds contempt” applies just as much, or even more so, with Muslims as it does with everyone else.
As another example, I am hoping that some talented programmer will come up with a free program to randomly and anonymously repost news stories to hundreds of forums around the world, after they have been edited to include “Koran desecration” as part of the story.
For example, an original news story would say, “Lindsay Lohan celebrated her release from jail today, etc.” And the edited version would read, “Lindsay Lohan celebrated her release from jail today by burning a Koran, etc.”
Then whoever edited the story uses the program to send it to a random dozen forums around the world, with the idea that in Karachi or Cairo or somewhere, there are protests and fatwas against (a rather puzzled) Lindsay Lohan for desecrating a Koran. Looking very silly after it is greeted with an international “huh?”
(Of course, just about every time Obama, or Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Al Sharpton, et al., opened their mouth, they would be saying something defamatory against Mohammed or the Koran.)
And after a few hundred such stories circulated around the world, a real story about some Koran desecration, like by the guy in Florida, instead of riots would be greeted with a yawn by the Muslims of the world.
I wouldn’t use a real person’s name...possibly an absurd Muslim name attributed to a fictional apostate: “Muhammad Abdul Farouk Anwar Ichabod Bakr”, former Muslim living in Iceland.
