According to the Obama family, it wasn't polygamy because Sr.'s marriage to Kezia (Kesia) was according to tribal customs, not civil. Wink, wink.

Here's what I don't get, Sr. goes from being a goatherder in 1959 to attending the University of Hawaii and on to Harvard. How did that happen? Did he have schooling in Kenya before going to Hawaii? How does a lowly goatherder get accepted to a US university without educational credentials?

Obama stated in his Convention speech: 'My father grew up herding goats.' That was a lie. It was his paternal grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama, who was a very wealthy farmer and bestowed a life of privalege on his son, Barack Obama Sr. I have to admit, there was very little information on Hussein's level of wealth. Everything I looked at said he was a "prominent and wealthy farmer."

However, I found this online. It is exerpts from the book, The Obamas, The Untold Story of an African Family. There should be some interesting stuff in there. I am not sure how sanitized this account is, but there is always something there that leaves clues about the big picture.
