Back in the 1960s, Big Sugar spent big bucks and got the FDA to ban cyclamates in the U.S. claiming there was a link to cancer. But, as it turned out, this was not the case. It’s still banned in the US but not in Canada. Same thing happened with saccharin. Got banned, then declared safe.
I take sucralose over sugar anytime. Sugar, and its cousin, high fructose corn syrup is what’s bad.

Splenda is chlorinated sugar. Which means chlorine is chemically substituted for hydrogen-oxygen on the sucrose molecule.
Supposedly the chlorine passes through your body before being digested. Hopefully thats true because chlorine is a carcinogen.
