Former Gov. Roemer says if he runs for president, he won't take PAC money
C-Span ^ | 4-11 | C-Span 2

Roemer will only take contributions of up to $100 from individuals. No PAC money, because the politicians have to worry about the impact of those decisions on their big donors. Buddy plans to get government spending down to 18.5% of GDP in 5 years. He plans for energy to come exclusively from North America in 10 Years.

Exactly. He is an extinct political volcano. A one term Republican Governor of Louisiana , who like hie RINO peer Dave Treen, did absolutely nothing to start to combat the structural dysfunction Edward Edwards was so adept at at instituting. Even with the donkey party in control of the legislature there is a lot a governor can do in Louisiana as the state constitution , which is incredibly complicated, does give the governor a lot of power. Roemer had neither the intestinal fortitude or the acumen to start the fight. He was just another inertia driven politico.

The only thing people in La. that I have spoken to can figure is he needs the money and buddies from the donkey party hope he can peel off enough votes in Louisiana , if he first runs in the primary and then declares as an independent in the general election, to push the state into the blue column. This is based on some rather specious ideas about rallying the black vote and getting more registered dems to vote donkey. Not to likely as back in ‘08 at the Obamaculation Louisiana actually voted by several points more Repub than in 2004. Classic Louisiana political intrigue as all involved donkeys and the handful of Roemer Republicans are looking forward to stuffing their pockets with campaign cash. They will get rich dumb donkeys in Hollywierd to pony up telling them about this brilliant ‘stealth ‘ ploy. And then all will laugh all the way to the Caymans.

IIRC, Buddy Roemer got bumped out of the LA gubernatorial race against Edwin Edwards by David Duke.

Does something like this sound familiar before the 2008 election?

I live in Illinois. Anything political anywhere on earth is better than what we have. No exceptions. We have the worst politicians bar none. Our governors get two terms. One in office and the second in prison.

Buddy's interview on C-span is very interesting, check it out.

If he does what he says he'll do, I recommend he stay out of convertibles in southern cities.
