Believe me, I’m not trying to be a wet blanket. I’m an Army veteran, just like LTC West. But as I’ve posted on Michele Bachmann threads more than once, we do NOT elect House members to the presidency. Only once (1860, in a weird 4-way race) have we done so. We elect governors, vice presidents, generals and senators, pretty much in that order.
I understand what you’re saying, but:
1. we need a leader, not a career politician,
2. the times are not “normal”, and we will need someone with the vision and courage to lead.
I think we should at the very least consider Col. West.
I don’t think the conventional wisdom holds true any more.
They told us that my previously defeated congressman was the worst possible candidate to retake the house seat. He then proceeded to beat 5 GOP challengers and the full might of the democrat party and their union parasites and he did it with half the money.
We just elected a freaking disbarred marxist community organizer!!!!
West is more presidential than the last four Presidents combined!!!!! I’ve watched videos of his speeches on YouTube and I’ll say he’s fantastic. Keep in mind he is a retired military officer.
West/Palin 2012!!!!
You think the Left had a conniption in the last election? That will be nothing compared to this ticket! They are two minorities that the Left won’t be able to hold back their visceral hatred from because they are two Conservatives who refuse to sit on the plantation of victimhood.

Yes, Reagan was a former governor as were Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Eisenhower was a former general as was Grant, Obama and JFK were former senators, Nixon was a former vice president and before that a senator, LBJ was a former vice president and before that a senator. What lessons may be gleaned from this?
You make it sound like there's some sort of taboo or whatever for a Congressman to run for President. I'm no historian,so I could be wrong here, but I believe none other than Abraham Lincoln went from the Congress to the White House, (after an unsuccessful run for U.S. Senator in 1858). ~ In any case, West is one hell of a man, he's impressive all the way around the barn. The next few months will reveal more about him though, and we'll see if he's ready for the Oval Office. Frankly, I like Donald Trump, for many reasons. He's brilliant and brave as a bulldog. And in this generation of sickening lack of testosterone in males, Trump is brimming with the stuff. He's the sort of man who would surround himself with the best there is out there for the Cabinet jobs, and he'd expect things to get done or the appointee would be fired.
I'd love to see a Donald Trump / Bobby Jindal ticket; or a Trump / Chris Christi ticket. Or any duo selected from the combination of those three men. With Sarah Palin as Secretary of State and David Petraeus as Secretary of Defence. Heading ICE be would Sheriff Arpaio of Arizona, Director of the CIA would be Commandant General James Conway, who is currently head of the U.S. Marine Corps. Heading up the Justice Department would be Jay Sekulow of the ACLJ. Paul Ryan would be Chief budget advisor. Next, the entire federalized airport security system would be overhauled. They'd fire the current crop of morons and let a private sector operation take over. This new security sector would encourage veterans to join them, especially former Military Police. They'd allow PROFILING of muslims and would stop searching the diapers of babies whose moms and dads are blond, and they'd stop frisking 82 year old ladies in wheelchairs. They'd also have to stop groping everyone's genitalia, except for those who fit a certain PROFILE and have a higher chance of being a terrorist.
Not only that, Vet, but we need the Bachmanns and Wests in the congress to help a President Palin move our agenda along. Why is everyone so eager to deplete the congresses of our best fighters?
