Calder: Jeff Skinner, though he may lose some votes due to the reputation (partly undeserved, I think) he’s starting to gain as a diver and pest.
GM of the Year: Yzerman - hard to argue with this one.
Lady Byng: Lidstrom.
Vezina: Thomas - just look at the numbers.
Norris: Lidstrom will win it, though there are probably others who were better defensemen this year. Hell, I’ll even predict that they rename the trophy after him after he retires.
Masterson: I don’t know if you can win this without playing during the season. If so, then my vote goes to Ian Laperriere (who actually is a nominee). If not, then it should be Ray Emery.
Selke: Kesler walking away.
Hart: Probably ought to be Corey Perry, but they’re never going to give this trophy to one of the most hated pests in the league whose name doesn’t start with S and end with ean Avery. Daniel Sedin gets this one.
Jack Adams: Trotz - Quick, name two players on the Nashville Predators other than Shea Weber! Yeah, me neither, but somehow Trotz got them to fifth place in the West.
As an addendum, I think Jacques Lemaire deserves an honorable mention for the Jack Adams for what he was able to do with the Devils.
If the Devils had made the playoffs, I’d probably say he deserves the Adams even more than Trotz. I thought it was crazy that Laviolette wasn’t even a finalist last year for the same reason.
Hey, nothing wrong with a homer pick when you can give a good reason for it. The Penguins would have struggled to even make the playoffs without Fleury.
If the Hart actually went to the player who was most valuable to getting their team to the playoffs, which is the entire goal of the regular season, then you’d see a lot more goalies and defensemen winning it. Frankly, Brodeur should have won it a few times during his prime, and I actually think Pronger was the most valuable player in the league last year.
I guess the reason you don’t see goalies, defensemen, and defensive forwards winning it is because voters reason that that’s what the Vezina, Norris, and Selke are for.
Then again, there’s a reason that since 1999 the Hart Trophy is also known as “Guy Who Won the Rocket Richard Trophy Trophy”. They had to create the Richard Trophy because the Hart Trophy was previously known as the “Guy Whose Name is Wayne Gretzky Trophy” and the only guy in the league named Wayne Gretzky retired.

The penalty calls tonight are clearly one sided.
Un-freaking-believable...
Another BS call late in OT.
The refs put the whistle away until it seems to benefit Tampa Bay.
NEAL!!! Pens Win!
Wings sweep Yotes!!
Hope to see ya in the finals again.
Considering all the Penguins have been through this year, making the Finals would be amazing!
Hope you get your wish!

Here Stanley, Stanley, Stanley.
No it is inconsistent. Too many injury potential i.e checks from behind not called and marginal restraining fouls called.
Always always always call the high hits and from behind.
Not a lot of stupid stuff after the play in general
