The Gov't "workers" were going to be paid retroactive after the shutdown.

I have little doubt that that is yet another thing the cowardly Republicans would agree to.

And you have no problem with the troops not being paid until it was over...but Congress would have been paid on time?

It is easy to sit a computer and opine when there are no consequences...especially for the people opining.

After reading some of the comments here, I'm thankful that FReepers are ONLY sitting at computers and not running anything!

I think the more important fight is the one coming on the 2012 budget.

BTW, a shutdown would not have affected my life one iota.
