I read that people don't notice an object moving in a straight line directly toward them, but do if it moves from side to side.

Since then, whenever I come up on an intersection where I have the green light, and other cars are waiting, I do a quick, hard weave back and forth in the lane when I get within about 100 ft. of the intersection. Kind of a a "Hey! Look at me!"

I especially wouldn't do that when it is just starting to rain. It'll bring up all the oil from the cars and trucks who stopped at the light and you might end up going down.
