The AI problem is the show's demographics...majority of voting viewers are female teens/tweens and they vote, like democrats, early and OFTEN...and they vote for the cute white guy..
The only way to possibly change it, IMHO, is, in the early weeks, until maybe 5-7 are left, is have the audience vote the bottom 3, ( or perhaps 2?) and then have the judges decide who goes...
If that had been in force this season, we'd see a different group of remaining contestants now..f'sure..
Yes, voting for the bottom 3 would maybe solve it — but it makes the show different, instead of being positive and trying to help your favorites, you’re voting people off the island. I don’t know if the powers that be want that negativity.
I don’t want the judges making the choices. What good is that? If they decide early on that they need a pop winner, they can get rid of all other styles early on and then all we’d have left is pop to vote for. Too easy for the judges to ‘fix’ it to get the winner ‘they’ want.
