DialIdol (which btw I don’t trust) has the bottom three as
3. Haley
2. Paul
1. Casey- predicted to be going home
Jacob is in the second top spot following Scotty. I honestly don’t understand why or who is voting for this guy. Ok fine, he can sing but he is not an Idol.
When Casey started singing, even While I recognized the beautiful song by NK Cole, I said to myself, “going home.” Sad, really. He is very talented but he did not bring it and sounded weak weak weak. My big son said I was crazy. I said, I bet my Freepers feel the same way, and when I read the live thread later, sure enough, you all (most) reacted just like I did, like someone put cat food in your burrito.
I vote for all the idols I like, and I do vote for Jacob. His voice is beautiful, and also he is learning and growing. I did most definitely NOT vote for him last week, with his horrible preaching to us.
My favorite thing about this show, besides Jonny’s thread, is seeing the kids taking the notes, learning, growing during the season, and becoming polished little gems instead of raw talent.
It took him a looong time, but even little Ricky is trying to learn. Paul is the only one who has not even tried to follow advice. I’m not sure he has the intelligence...
I don't get to vote because I work Wednesday nights and watch the show on tape when I get home, but if I watched the show live I'd vote for Lauren and Jacob. I think Lauren has the best chance of being a national success of this entire group. I think Jacob is the best singer left.
He's completely stylized and the people here who think he's just another stereotypical male black singer have Helen Keller's ears (one deranged poster thought he should sing "Old Man River" for Movie Night...why not just suggest "Mammy" from The Jazz Singer?).
These threads exist to put down any contestant with anything other than country class or style, right? (James is given a pass for having white-person audacity.) I mean, a poster identifies Jacob with a black Cabbage Patch doll while another suggests he sing the most stereotypical "Negro Balladeer" song in the history of cliched movie music?
The man is a tenor!
Open your ears and minds, people!
Those the three I picked to be in the bottom also.
