If you are interested in Christians who, because they were not afflicted with the disease of evangelical “niceness”, were able to save the West, Sobieski’s Poles are only one example. The 70 year-old Graf von Salm and his ferocious “Landsknecht” together with the citizenry saved Vienna the first time against the forces of Suleimann “The Great”. That is a fascinating story. Even more dramatic was the defense of Malta by the Knights of Malta under Jean Perisot de la Vallette (another 70 year-old) in 1565. And then, there was also the destruction of the Ottoman’s fleet by forces led by Don Juan of Austria at Lepanto (commemorated in Othello (Otello), both by Shakespeare and Verdi).

If you wish to expand it to the military realm you are drifting into serious hyperbole.
All the Muslim armies in the world cannot successfully engage the tiny western outpost of Israel. What in the world makes you think they pose anything remotely resembling a military threat to "The West?"
I agree they would like to, but they don't have the capability. Given their dismal record with organization and technology, they aren't going to develop any such capability anytime soon, either.
At the time of what you choose to refer to as their first two attacks on the West, Islam was at minimum technologically equal to and often ahead of Christendom. The facts are very different today.
