Why would you consider The Hot Rock overrated? As far as I can tell, it doesn’t have enough of a reputation to warrant it. Granted, it’s a weak adaptation of a terrific novel, but most people have probably never even heard of it.
THE SPY WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD with Richard Burton. I saw it in 1966 at the theater. The only movie I almost fell asleap in hoping it would get better as it went along. It didn’t.
Another is MODISTY BLAISE back in 1966. I kept asking myself, How much longer is this thing going to go on! OK for a 80 minute film, but each time they came to a point to end the film they just kept going till a full 2 hours of my life was expended.
