Forget Popeye.
Catch One Hour Photo and Bicentennail Man.
Robin is a fine actor.

Ten minutes into Titanic, I’m yelling at the screen, “Just Sink Already!”

I felt the same way about the Jackson remake of King Kong.

Half way through I wanted him to get shot off the Empire State Building.

I got dragged out to that stinker. I thought it might be bad, and was sadly correct.

The original ‘A Night To Remember’ with Barbara Stanwick is the one to see. It is a great film. Great drama, you really care about the characters. No fancy special effects, just a great story, great acting and directing.
When the Band plays ‘Nearer My God To Thee’ everyone is in tears!

The remake you mentioned is a dud IMO.

I saw Goodmorning Vietnam, didn’t like it, but like you, his standup or when he is on one of the nighttime shows, he is way to manic for me..have to turn him off..

Tracy was in "The Mountain" but not Katherine Hepburn.

Katherine is there, but her role is little more than a cameo.
She plays the Tracy's long-time girl friend, whom he has put off marrying for years. The event that caps the movie is when he finally proposes to her after saving the life of the Indian princess.

However, the gist of the story is the contrast between a morally strong man and a weak, selfish one. The strong one lives and marries. The weak one dies. Much as in The Edge, another great movie that I don't often see mentioned. Anthony Hopkins is first-rate, and the Baldwin kid is convincing because the script calls for him to play himself.

Hopkins: You can make fire from ice!
Baldwin: What?
