All that time I've called them clips and don't give a damn who likes it or not. Matter of fact, everyone else I grew up with called them clips. This is in N. Calif.

We're just going by the terminology that the US military and the manufacturers use. If you designate them incorrectly in the military, you might end up doing something similar to the "This is my weapon, this is my gun" song for a few hours.

Mechanically speaking, you are using the wrong terminology. If this doesn't concern you, than you simply spurn education.
