This video is just mind boggling. It shows the Tsunami slowly from beginning to the point that the whole city is completely engulfed in ruins as the person filming starts on the street and eventually moves to higher ground. All the while the water slowly rises as it carries away cars, trucks, buildings, and people. Imagine being the person filming it? Talk about feeling helpless. The video is 6 minutes long, but as you watch it, the time goes by without realizing it has been that long.
Quite amazing isn't it? One moment it looks like a water main break, the next cars a floating by, the next where you were standing is under water, and finally you see parts of the city floating and tearing itself apart.
I thought the final seconds where he panned to people alive in the wreckage was the most poignant, and terrifying. I prayed for those people the very first time I saw it.
Good post. Thanks.
Have seen this several times and it is still incomprehensible that the ocean left it’s bed and came on land with such force.
Could be the computer I am on too. I’m not sure it is updated with the latest software.
But the link works, and that is 90% of the battle.
Good for you.
Amos, this video has been posted on Free Republic frequently the last three day. Just so you know.
Terrible what has happened in Japan.
As I have been told now by 6 freep mails. Oh well.
I have been in the woods for almost two weeks and just today have been back to use my computer and go online. Much of what I am seeing is all new. I had a radio, but never turned it on. It wasn’t until I got back to my car yesterday evening that I even heard about the Quake in Japan.
I always take to the woods for some private time between me God and His creation this time of the year. Amazing what you can miss when you get away and refuse to keep up with the world.
I should have done a search, but most times FreeRepublic’s search never works properly for me, so I never even tried this time. Next time I will do a Google search with FR in the wording as another Freeper suggested awhile back when FR search fails.
Hmmm, it's a red X on mine. ;-)
i had seen it before but it still amazes me. don’t worry about it.
i watched the entire thing again.
