Why should I have to post it to you and everyone else who responds to me?

That's your interpretation of what I said? I wanted you to post it to me??? It's no wonder your understanding of this topic is way off.

I agree except I do give a fickle finger about where he was born. I am not willing to dismiss any fact that weighs on his ineligibility. The sooner he can be removed by such fickle fingers the sooner I can relax because I won’t have to be contributing to his retirement pension and supporting costs. Let Soros and his other enablers, probably including some congresspersons, military ,and judges pay for his world retirement funding.

The office of president is the ONLY one in the Constitution where the Framers applied the NBC standard. They set the bar that high for very good reasons.

Exactly. And now we have the results of not upholding The Constitution and for the same reason it was applied for - to avoid the possibility of a candidate not having allegiance to the USA.

Barry hasn't got the heritage, the education, the mindset or the instincts of an American citizen. And he shows it every day.

Very, very well expressed.

In there he [John Jay] never mentions birthplace. Do you know of another founder who said something else about natural born Citizenship?

The phrase, "Natural Born Citizen" comes directly from Vattel's treatise, 'Law of Nations', which learned men of the day (especially the Framers) were very familiar with.

I've done quite a bit of searching on that phrase since Obama was elected, but have found no colloquial references for it. It was essentially a legal term that defined a precise condition of citizenship (as defined by Vattel).

As far as I know, it may have been coined by Vattel himself.

I'm almost sure that I ran across another reference to NBC by one of the Framers in my travels, but all of my saved research is on the hard drive of a computer that's now FUBAR. I don't recall offhand now where I read it, or who it was that mentioned it.

I totally agree. It ain't gonna happen. Obama is POTUS. Game over.

At one time I felt that way about the Soviet threat and Berlin Wall. I seriously believed that I would never live to see the end of the Cold War.

Amazing, though, miracles happen.

"Yes you did. That child could never be a natural born citizen if both parents were not citizens. Doesn’t matter if he was born in the White House."

That's not true. The minor details I may have mixed up would be the age of the one American citizen parent to be born outside the U.S. If what you say is true, it is easily provable that Obama's father was not a U.S. citizen at the time of his birth and he doesn't deny this. As nasty as the Clinton campaign is, they would have jumped all over this one. No, current law says that only one parent has to be a U.S. citizen to be considered a natural born citizen.

Well, I’m conversing with about six or seven other people on this topic. If you’re that interested in what I have to say, read my posts. My understanding of this topic is dead on. As Rush likes to say, I live in “Litteralville”, not the way I want it to be or the way a long dead swiss philosopher says it was. If it is so obvious that Obama is not natural born then he would have been as qualified to run for President as Arnold Swartzenagger and Hillary Clinton would have had this plastered all over the press during the campaign.

The famed “birthers” commentators online never bring up any other angle for natural born qualifications. They want to see his real birth certificate to see his eligibility for office. Why, because if Anne Dunham had him outside the U.S. and she was under 18 (which she was at the time), the current law of 1961 says he is not a natural born citizen. That’s the issue.

Sorry to hear about your computer going screwey. I hate losing info like that. I’m aware of Vattel and it is very obvious that they got this general idea from Vattel. However, I find it interesting that the founders never really debated this term (that I know of) which was a vague and archaic term even at that time. Yet they put it in the constitution to say that the President had to meet a special qualification of citizenship. The very first Congress (of which many of the founders were in) went on to further refine this term to include U.S. citizens having babies abroad. That tells me that we know the general idea of the natural born citizen to be someone born here of American parents and it is up to Congress to qualify and refine this term further.

This same question of natural born came up when Goldwater ran. He was born in Arizona when it was a territory. Did that constitute “natural born”? There were also questions about Chester Arthur during his Presidency. His father was a citizen of Ireland at the time of his birth and there was always a question of whether he was born in Vermont or Canada. It’s almost an exact parallel to the Obama case. The questions were raised back then but nothing was ever proven one way or the other.

Yeah, they are correcting you.

If you’re that interested in what I have to say, read my posts.

More wrong interpretation on your part. I never said that or implied it. One post was all I needed - not to bother anymore.

That’s the issue.

His natural born status is and Dunham is only one point.

"Yeah, they are correcting you."

Well then you haven't been reading them.

"His natural born status is and Dunham is only one point."

And what's the other points? If you say that it is the status of both his parents not being U.S. citizens you're being ridiculous. It is easily provable that his father was not a citizen. If that was the requirement for natural born status, then certainly Hillary, Edwards, McCain or someone else would have brought this up. The only place this point is ever brought up is by ridiculous people on the internet. If it had any merit, you would hear people on TV, radio or serious people on the internet commenting on it. The only thing these people are commenting on is his birth certificate because of the 'Dunham' issue.
