KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Atlanta Braves minor league manager Luis Salazar has lost an eye after he was struck in the face by a line drive while watching a spring training game.
Braves general manager Frank Wren said Wednesday that doctors were unable to save Salazar's left eye after the accident March 9. The former major league player is otherwise recovering from his injuries and expects to manage Lynchburg of the Class A Carolina League this season.

What a sad, sad thing. But I think Luis will rise to the occasion.
That’s terrible!
I hope recovers well.
The day I got my bandages off my eye I sat down to watch the news with my "other eye" ~ my surgified eye having swollen shut.
The first guy up was a fellow who'd been minding his business only to have encountered a bear that had something else he wanted to do ~ and that was to snatch this guy's eye out with just a flick of his paw.
The man's eyelid was stitched shut over his empty eye socket.
I thanked the Lord instantly for saving me from that possibility.
I hope this gentleman begins to wear goggles ~ you only have one eye to lose!

I think the same thing happened to Herb Score.
I was telling my kids about this earlier today. ALWAYS keep your eye on the ball.
Prayers for Luis and Family.....
