I'd go with Uncle Frank before Elijah. It was FMD (aka Bob Greene) who taught young Barry how to be black (and red, at the same time).

you REALLY think there's a resemblance? I certainly don't.

These are pretty good photo samples for studying - for looking for resemblances and differences between Barry and the other three.

First to jump out: Barry has his mother’s large, plump earlobes, and both their lobes “hang free”. Lobes either hang free, or are smoothly connected to the skin in back of the jawline. It’s one or the other: Hanging free, or “attached”. If your lobes hang free and both your parents’ lobes are attached - one of them [or both] is not your parent.

Likely that under her hair, Stanley Ann’s ears are large and “free-ranging” like Barry’s.

Barry’s head shape is slightly of a long/narrow shape, but only slightly. There is more structural “weight” between the eyes and chin than between the eyes and hairline. Davis’ head shape is much the same as Barry’s. Stanley Ann’s isn’t - her head is heart-shaped: wide at the temples, sloping pretty sharply down to a narrow pointed chin. The distance between her lower lip and the point of her chin is much longer, proportionally, than is Barry’s. That prominent chin is a Dunham feature - very noticeable in her father. The prominent Dunham chin would be the countering factor to the small chins of both Davis and “Senior”, while the roundness of those small chins would have outweighed Stanley Ann’s ‘point’ going to her son. “Senior’s” head shape is nothing like Barry’s: It is square, with heavy round cheek bones. Unlike the heavy-weightedness below the eyes of Barry and Davis, Senior’s eyes are spaced evenly between the top of his head and the tip of his chin.
Noses: Stanley Ann’s is “pinched” and narrow; left nostril larger and lower than the right: noticeably lopsided. Barry’s right nostril is larger and lower than SA’s. Barry’s nose could be a blend of hers and either of the sire candidates: both of them have noses of average size and shape for their race. Theirs, however, both have a pleasing symetry missing in Barry’s and SA’a noses.

All of Senior’s head/facial bone structure is round and blocky, and he has the backward-sloping forehead typical of his Luo ancestry, as well as the hairline receding at an early age. It is believed that in this photo he is about 22-23 years old. Barry’s is at mid-40s; Davis’s - looks to be maybe 50 -55.

Where Senior’s forehead slopes backward, the foreheads of Barry and Davis go straight up from the brows, then “shelf-off” to very similar hairlines.

Eyes: SA’s have an “arch” shape, with a fairly large white area. Senior’s - though he is not smiling, his eyes are open only narrowly. His are also spaced widely apart by the nose bridge. “They” say that esthetically, the face is most appealing to observers if the space between the eyes will easily accomodate an eye - that is, the width of that space should be the same as the width of an eye. [Large eyes, widely spaced: think Jackie Kennedy]. Hard to tell with Davis because he’s not looking straight enough at the camera. Barry and SA: nope - neither makes it; part of what gives their faces that “pinched” appearance.

Mouths: Here we go. Just a glance says Senior isn’t even in the game: wide, full mouth and no mid-line “seam” on the upper lip. And look at the cleft between the lips and the nose! This contestant might just as well take his toys and go home. Uhhhhh. Oh, yeah...that’s exactly what he DID do.
Davis has extremely full lips/mouth. Stanley Ann has extremely narrow and pinched lips/mouth. Barry’s lips/mouth fall right in between those other two. The similarity is stunning - right down to the upper lip’s midline “seam”.

The most striking similarity between Barry and Davis shows prominently in the lower photo of Barry: Under their mouths, between the lower lip and the “top” of the chin there is a paunch - it may be fat, but appears more to be an unusual muscle structure, and it “cradles” the entire lower lip above the chin. I can’t recall seeing such a feature on anyone else, ever. Over the past few year, this feature on Barry has become increasingly prominent - almost to the point of distraction. It’s very obvious in this photo. It shows in this photo of Davis, but there are others where it’s very obvious. [Sorry I don’t know how to post photos; google Frank Marshall Davis, click on “images”, and they’ll show up]. To me, this shared wierd feature clinches the paternity issue - ALL things considered.

Eyebrows: SA’s have a high arch, but since women pluck, it’s hard to say. Barry’s and Davis’ eyebrows are very alike in shape and density. They also have the same frown crease. And, chillingly, they have that same icy death-stare. Look at them - cold, angry eyes with no highlights.
