Here's the street map showing the current layout of the block and the property - I added a small photo of the building that's there now:

IMO, according to the street numbers the house would be on the other side of the street and at the other end. It would have been the second house (no longer there) from Mercer rather than Republic. Look at google street view. See the lay of the land with the rise from the street to where the house would have been. That’s similar to the current Mercer/13th corner white house that is of the same time period.
