I recently saw a caravan of trucks with the message of "11-May-2011 Judgement is coming".

Apparently, there are Christians who believe that there is significance in that date.

I have not heard or seen much of this cult before now, and I am curious about them.

On a lighter note, maybe people should dread the 11th of the month, and not the 13th....

Maybe the old superstition of Friday the 13th is off the mark by a couple of days or something...

Friday the 13th comes from the Egyptians during Passover.

It was the 12th for Hebrews, (who start and end their days at sunset). But Friday the 13th for the Egyptians.

So, if you are a believer, Friday the 13th is a deliverence day.

In the Roman calendar, the Ides fall on the 13th in every month except 4 (March, May, July, October).

You have to admire the fearlessness of the Founding Fathers--they went ahead with the decision for independence despite the fact that the colonies were 13 in number. (They tried to get West Florida to join them but the British settlers there were loyalists.)

11-May-11 will be my 63rd birthday. I didn't realize that there would be such a fuss. A bottle of single malt (Macallan 18?) would suffice.

I did post this under weird for a reason...

I did find something about the cult of Christians on the Internet, but I don't know how large this group is...

According to one website, they believe the rapture will happen between May 11, 2011 and October 11, 2011. That was according to one website -- not what I believe.

I have also heard people talking about 2012 like it is going to be the end of the world...

I don't know what about that, but maybe it comes from Nostradamus and his predictions...

Apparently Harold Camping is the one who is predicting the rapture in May, 2011. From what I read on the Internet, he originally predicted May 11, 2011, but then adjusted it to May 21, 2011 (as of today).

He graduated from University of California Berkeley (Civil Engineering). Maybe he still has ties there...

Here is his Wikipedia web page:
