Comedian Gallagher collapsed onto his back, clutching his chest during his performance tonight in Rochester, MN -- and TMZ has learned he was rushed to a hospital by ambulance.
Multiple witnesses tell TMZ Gallagher was doing his famous sledge-o-matic routine when he fell backwards onto the stage. We're told his eyes were closed and he was shaking.
Doctors -- who happened to be in the audience -- rushed on stage and straightened out Gallagher's arms ... and waited by his side until the ambulance arrived.
Story developing...
He just finished a tour around Europe and Middle East giving a free show to the military folks. He came to Italy and I was able to meet him and even got a picture. The thing is I feel that he was high the whole time. A good guy and Prayers for a quick recovery.
Prayers for Gallagher - he was just here at Sigonella last month and did a very nice show.
Yeah, he found a gig and has ridden it to a living. Who's to say? I first saw his act in 1984!
We saw Gallagher at Valley Forge (?) sometime in the ‘80s, and during his sledgehammer routine he smashed a bottle of Scope and the big heavy cap shot off like a rocket and hit an audience member in the face. The poor lady had to be rushed to the hospital but Gallagher kept churning out the jokes.
That Gallagher is over the top sometimes.
Better to give him an aspirin ASAP.
I’ve attended 2 Gallagher performances, the 2nd one on “Death Row”, aka the front row.
God help him.
Hope he makes it through okay.
All my prayers for the Watermellon man
All my prayers for the Watermelon man

I wonder how pissed he was when it got a laugh? (prayers up)
It was the real Gallagher. We saw Tina Turner at the same venue not much longer thereafter.
Many thanks for posting that Gallaghar YouTube video link. Watched it all the way through. SUPER! :-) FReegards....
