Why should we care what they pay in Europe?
Because it shows the folly of the left's plan.
The left believes that if they can drive up gas prices in America, it will cause Americans to turn to more green/alternative energy sources. That's why you hear people in the Obama administration making comments about higher gas prices not necissarily being a bad thing.
Gas in Norway is more than double the US price (currently $9.28) and has been for a while. Has that caused them to abandon gas cars for electrics or even hybrids? No, because even at those high prices it is still cheaper to operate a conventional gas car than an electric/hybrid (way cheaper).
Ask a greenine how high gas prices would have to go to get people buying electric cars in big numbers? Demand an actual number. Whatever number they say, I'll gurantee it will be way lower than the European cost of gas has been for decades. Point out their number is too low, Europe proves it.
The correct number is $24 a gallon just to have gas cars and electric cars break even (that also assumes the price of electricity doesn't rise). $24 a gallon is a number we will never reach, which means the greenie plan of raising gas prices won't work.
It is important to know what Europe pays to point out the folly of the greenie's plan.
