I have friend with ferrets, they run loose in the house....the first grandson was napping upstairs when they heard him screaming....yep the ferret got his face....very nasty.

besides that danger, the stench is awful.

You’ve been around here for a long time; remember the FReeper named *ferret*? I think he lived on the wet coast and was a tree-sitter of sorts. He may have been banned..dunno for sure; I think his personal philosophy irked quite a few IIRC.

I believe it’s important to state, for the record, that stoats are ‘usually’ less prone to troublemaking and we have considerably better taste in steaks and whisky than do ferrets.
They are distant cousins, but I am heartened by the preponderance of pro-ferret commentary in this thread.

That might be the mistake.
You’re only supposed to bathe a ferret three or four times a year, unless absolutely necessary.

When you bathe them, you strip their fur of oils, so they generate more stinky oils to replace those. Some say ferrets smell worse right after a bath.

He was around about the time some gal was sitting in a tree in California trying to save it from being cut down. He was like the harmless looney uncle that everyone tolerated but nobody had the heart to tell him to check into a mental hospital......LOL!
