A bunch of years ago when I lived in an apartment, I was on the side of my building washing my car when a black lady came up and said she just attacked by a weasel. She came out of the next unit's front door when the weasel came out of the bushes.......I laughed and said, "uh, ok" then she got in her car and drove away.
Well I knew what it was and I also knew that the thug punk who lived on the third floor of that unit had a ferret and that it obviously got outside (probably fell off his balcony) Sure enough, about 15 minutes later the little guy came walking around the corner of the building so I went over and picked him up and took it to my apartment intending to keep it since Michigan had recently legalized them.
Anyway, I couldn't stand the smell so I checked the internet and discovered that there was a network of ferret rescuers and a veterinarian close to my employer was a member of that network. So on the following Monday, I took the ferret in to her.........Like I had said, the ferret's owner was a young punk (gang colors) and I had a run in with him once before so I thought the ferret would be better off with a new home...........
What I noticed right off when I picked the ferret up was that they are long and squishy, like an elogated water balloon.......LOL!
I’m for legalizing the ownership of monitor lizards and komodo dragons. Is this whole country going to hell? Did any of you catch the link at Drudge where the rappers and hip hoppers had a brawl at a D.C. conclave? Amazing. They remind me of a bunch of feral hogs, insensate brutes and human vermin. “Wha’s dah bitches and hoes?”

Agreed. I had a friend who was a ferret owner. Even with the scent gland removed (whatever it’s called) the animal had an aroma.

IIRC, not even the cast knew it was coming, and they shot that sequence in one take.
The show turned into a preachy nightmare for every season that followed Frank’s departure. Even “Hot Lips” turned into a good guy and the only dramatic foil left was the audience.

I wonder if the ferret was descented?
During my multi-month research before getting the ferrets, I found A LOT of ferret rescue agencies. Apparently, many owners don’t do the research.
I made my daughter read about eight books and even quizzed her nightly. She knew the genus and phylum, the common latin name and what it meant (”little thief”) and even surprised me with a lot of trivia.
I honestly can’t think of a better pet for cat lovers who are allergic. Even my dog likes them and whines when he can’t get into the room to play with them.
Ferrets are illegal in California, and yet you can go into any Pet Smart or PetCo in the state and pick up Purina Ferret Chow and Ferret Fancy magazine.
I never thought about that.......I bathed the thing as soon as I took him home on Friday and again bathed him the next day........I really don't know.
