I have seen insanity and it happens on the streets of Valparaiso, Chile. The Valparaiso Cerro Abajo Race is a legendary urban bike race and is more extreme than skydiving out of an exploding F-18 piloted by Charlie Sheen - while chugging a 2 liter of Mountain Dew. The rider must brave jumps, stray dogs, and flights of stairs along the steep downhill path. I saw the photos of the 2011 race but I guess I didn't scroll far enough down to catch that video.
I also wondered if the handle bars on those racing bikes are customized because there are some narrow areas they go through.
I also noticed the brakes on my mountain bike make the same noise as those bikes so I presume it is normal...
