No, that’s not it at all. In fact, the gun dealers all called the ATF to report the suspicious mass gun sales. The ATF ordered them to proceed with the sales. Now it turns out they even videotaped the guns being loaded into their vehicles.

I'm pretty certain the intent was to show larger numbers of US guns being used down there, then the dim house and senate could pass a new ‘assault riffle” ban and obama would sign it based on this new information. It just didn't come together before their midterm disaster. The MSM is providing cover for this by calling it a botched operation, but it was only botched because it didn't happen fast enough and word has leaked.
