How will pepper spray do against any of these dogs?
I have it, I carry it, but if it will just tick them off, I would rather carry something else.

Hard to say. An aggressive angry dog might break off the attack. An aggressive fearful dog might attack more fiercely.

It depends. Some dog breeds have been bred to fight each other. A dog that has mistaken an easy Sunday afternoon for a life or death situation is not going to be swayed by pepper spray.

The comments at 3:50 are some of of the best comments I’ve ever heard about some dog breeds.

Having said that, I do not keep protection with me when letting my dog run, it’s a Brittany, but I always have control over my dog and we will walk away from any kind of herding or fighting breed.

Those *horrible* “personal sirens” some women carry will freak out the average dog.

Sounds like a shrieking air raid siren going off.

You have to use something that totally is beyond the realm of a dog’s normal mental processes.

A blaring siren sure fits that bill....and hurts their ears something fierce.

Twice on walks my dog has been attacked by dogs twice his height. He being a scrappy terrier managed to lock on to the attacking dogs necks. I couldn't get him to let go. I spreyed him with pepper spray on his nose. After about 20 seconds he let go. Pepper spray dosage is meant for humans. They use the stuff on bears but with a much higher dosage.
