You only need a permit to carry a concealed folding table. Long tables and trestle tables can be openly carried as long as their is no food on them
If food IS involved, do you still get your permit from BATF or would it now be FDA ?

You better be able to pass scrutiny of DIY HomeSecurity and Norm Abram. ...if you get past him, you're good.

My science teacher was wearing hiking boots one day when a kid fell asleep head down on his desk. He sauntered by while lecturing and kicked the bottom of the desk so hard, he blew the top of the desk right out of the screws. Hilarity ensued.

In Junior High I had a football coach who also taught English. He was notorious for having (and using both on boys AND girls) a shortened handle old, thick wood boat oar with several holes drilled in it. He wouldn't hesitate to hit the desk with it to get students attention.
One day I was in his class when he hit the desk so hard with it that it split the paddle/oar right down the middle.
God bless Coach Cox wherever he is. I learned more history than English in his class and loved every minute of it.

They work better when they hit you with them!
