I’d say the primary reason is that they know there’s a > 50% chance the woman will freak out & take the kids 3-5 years in.

That is an excellent start, but it’s not easy to find a Christian woman that will really live the Biblical example of how marriage should be. What I mean is a woman that will show her man respect even when she does not feel like it, and submit to his God-given authority as long as he is in submission to God.
I can’t blame most all women for not following this, because it’s pretty hard to find a man totally submitting himself to the will of God, too.
