Do AC and others have some really bad articles? Yes. But throwing out babies with the bathwater doesn't seem good. I wade through searches everyday..I like the fact that I am not restrained to read what someone else wants me to read. Can't say that about most mediums. I guess it wouldn't be too much of a leap to drop Drudge's website in the mix if there is an agenda for the future.

I have toyed around with writing one that uses BOSS (yahoo/bing search results). DougSearch.com

The annoying thing is that the more I got involved with the data, the more I realized they artificially promote things, also.

Take the Birth Certificate issue. They kept popping the leftist snopes, mediamatters, fightthesmears sites to the top of the search results. I finally put a filter in to knock those sites out of the results.

I would love to write my own engine from start to display, I just don't have the time or money.

I use several with Google being the search of last resort. I usually start with Bing. I heard Bing stands for “Because it’s not Google”. I am going to try some of the ones posted here
