Tea Party Patriots and Concerned Taxpayers, we need to show Governor Walker of Wisconsin that we are able to fill those teachers who may not return to work soon. I am asking you to tell your teaching friends who want to teach the children real education and who understand that Wisconsin can not continue to be strong armed by the unions who are helping to drive Wisconsin into the hole financially to please email, or mail their resumes into Governor Walker with a note that shows your support for his plan on helping fix the budget of his state. Let these Unions know that we have the people to fill these rolls right now.

Qualifications:

1. Put the children's education first

a. From CNS:

In the National Assessment of Educational Progress tests administered by the U.S. Department of Education in 2009-the latest year available-only 32 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned a "proficient" rating while another 2 percent earned an "advanced" rating. The other 66 percent of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders earned ratings below "proficient," including 44 percent who earned a rating of "basic" and 22 percent who earned a rating of "below basic."

The test also showed that the reading abilities of Wisconsin public-school eighth graders had not improved at all between 1998 and 2009 despite a significant inflation-adjusted increase in the amount of money Wisconsin public schools spent per pupil each year.

2. Be willing take performance reviews over tenure.

a. Christie suggested placing teachers on five-year contracts. When a contract expires, the teacher’s performance would be reviewed and decision would be made whether to renew for another five years, he said today at a town hall meeting in Paramus.

3.Understand that Wisconsin's has a fiscal problem right now.

a. Mr. Walker's proposals are hardly revolutionary. Facing a $137 million budget deficit, he has decided to try to avoid laying off 5,500 state workers by proposing that they contribute 5.8% of their income towards their pensions and 12.6% towards health insurance. That's roughly the national average for public pension payments, and it is less than half the national average of what government workers contribute to health care. Mr. Walker also wants to limit the power of public-employee unions to negotiate contracts and work rules—something that 24 states already limit or ban.

Those are just a few of the qualifications, but I will allow you to comment on some more qualifications you can think of. So please tweet, facebook, email, or share here on gather your thoughts.

Also teachers please email, or send in your resumes and your claim of support on what Governor Walker is doing in Wisconsin.

The first step is to get rid of mandatory teacher “certification”. Any educated adult can teach children.

An educated adult *could* teach children, but they do need the four basic ground rules that used to be the standard of conduct for teachers.

1) Teachers are hired to teach a subject, at a grade level. This is their mission. To do this they must keep order and discipline in their classroom. They are most definitely *not* hired to soapbox, on *any* subject. Failing too many students reflects poorly on the teacher.

To repeat, teachers are most definitely *not* hired to soapbox, on *any* subject.

2) Teachers are not retained who offend their students, their students’ parents, the community, the school board or the local government.

3) Teachers are not retained who brawl with their peers, or defy their department chairman or the school administration.

4) Read and follow the school rules. Fraternization is forbidden, and is likely a criminal offense. So is intimacy on school grounds. Professionalism is highly valued, so keep yours, and keep your job.

(the unwritten rules)

5) If a teacher *must* hit a student, they *must not* do so in front of witnesses. Hugging is usually reserved to female teachers, and ends with fourth grade. Any other physical contact needs a justification.

6) Some parents earn their livelihood through litigation, which must be calculated into any “judgment call” on your part.

7) Do not bring items to school that are not expendable. Do not leave food and drink unattended. Secure all valuables in a locked drawer. Lock your car.

8) If another teacher is behaving badly, report it through the chain. If nothing is done about it, CYA.

9) Never ignore unidentified adults on school grounds.
