You’re the first FReeper I’ve run across who knows what Long Tieng is. I wasn’t AF or even Mil. I was a company guy. (Although I was later farmed out to AFOSI for about a year.) We pulled out of Long Tieng around late 66 - early 67. Sounds like you worked with some great folks.

Sure did. Been to several Lima sites around the area. What did you do there?

Nothing exciting. I was a rookie intel analyst. Things were pretty much being run out of 20A when I was there. Spent my first year at Langley and then rewarded with a Highlands vacation. :-) Did two SOG missions. The most exciting time of my life. God bless the Hmong. You had a much more interesting time. Got to play with some really great toys. Thanks for putting your butt out there.

Welcome. I did some SOG’s - have to look at my 214 to see. Can’t remember off hand. Just knew there was mention. I’m thinking it was there because of being a FAC.

Makes sense. Although I don’t think that kind of duty would show up on a 214. Most of it was in Cambodia and central Laos (Savannakhet and environs) and was illegal at the time. I could be wrong. Wouldn’t be the first time.

Ha, right. We weren’t there and this didn’t happen. I’m thinking off the top of my head I was with 7th SOG. It shows up under medals and citations section. I’m not at home so I can’t check. Will let you know though.
