I did some looking around to try to corroborate this claim but the hits I found all redound to an unsubstantiated assertion by DiLorenzo. Do you have anything by a credible source?
I'm asking you to support your claim of 300 newspapers shut down on the order of Lincoln. Had I thought that there was any truth to that then I would look it up on my own. But instead I'm expecting you to provide your source.
