Krb asked if the kid thought he couldn’t control himself. I pointed out that a number of situations are inappropriate whether the person in them is exercising self-control or not.
So yeah, we’re still talking about a high school boy in a situation with a high school girl that is inappropriate, and how it is inappropriate no matter what his level of self-control is.
Simple enough?
One thing I find interesting is that this kid is living out the values his family taught him and is willing to pay a personal price to do so, but some freepers are treating him like an idiot because they think this is an appropriate situation. They would never do that with, say, a Jewish kid who stayed off the wrestling team if the coach prescribed a diet with two servings of bacon a day in it.
1 Thessalonians 5:2 - Abstain from the APPEARANCE of all evil. Remember, it isn’t just about what is going on in our mind and heart - but what impression we leave on people.
If that male cheerleader has a “pure heart” and doesn’t even think about where his hand is/is near - that is great. But what about all the other young men who drool fantasizing about what that male cheerleader is doing - and what they ASSUME he is doing with that hand. That is the APPEARANCE of evil.
Is that really the same?
