They said it’s a pretty virulent herbicide, and stays in the ground for up to five years.

This guy made a major mistake. This is a school parents send their kids to, abeit older ones.

There are going to be all kinds of expensive repercussions from this for the school.

Not that simple.

There could be major deep soil contamination that could potentially affect other trees in other locations.

There could also be groundwater contamination that will eventually affect the water supply, not to menton fish and other wildlife in streams and ponds.

I say let's use the EPA for something good for a change. Have the EPA come in and declare the site a "superfund" cleanup site.

And charge the perp for every penny it costs to clean it up.
