O.J. reportedly beaten to a 'bloody pulp' in prison attack

O.J. Simpson was beaten unconscious in a savage prison yard attack, according to a report in the National Enquirer.

The assault was so brutal and debilitating that the disgraced NFL great is now afraid to leave his cell.

The Enquirer said inmates cheered on a beefy young skinhead as he beat the most famous inmate at Nevada's Lovelock Correctional Center to a "bloody pulp," knocking him to the ground and inflicting serious injuries. Simpson, 63, reportedly spent three weeks in the infirmary while prison officials attempted to hush up the incident.

Supposedly Simpson was targeted in the lockup because his boasts about sexual exploits with beautiful white women were overheard by white supremacist inmates.

If this story is true;

Regardless of who was beaten up, why is this type of behavior allowed at this correctional center? Seems to me certain employees should be fired and investigated for possible criminal behavior.

I doubt this type of behavior is allowed. Keeping it from happening is a completely different thing. I’ve worked in corrections, and the speed with which this type of thing can happen is pretty amazing. Add to that, CO’s can’t be everywhere all the time, especially if even minimal inmate planning creates a diversion.

Source is Bruce Fromong, the collectibles dealer who supposedly had a heart attack when OJ attacked him, who apparently has been shopping this story around for a couple weeks, and finally sold some OJ Memorabilia to the National Enquirer. I'd expect that corrections officials hadn't been contacted to confirm the story.
