Despite the comments I see here about how common
footlong is, the Oxford English Dictionary (2nd ed)says it is obsolete and rare. The one usage example they give comes from 1545 and there it is spelled
footlonge. (FR's spellchecker doesn't recognize it either!)
Subway made it common, and they should be entitled to use it as a trademark.

Might as well “Subway” to the list.

I actually saw Oscar Meyer Cotto Salami at Kroger on sale this past week for .$98/# package. Cheap store brand bread is about a buck a loaf.

Shouldn't they have a trademark on the word "sandwich" too? As long they're trademarking everything in the dictionary, I mean.
I own the rights to the phrase "towel rack."
Be very careful how you use it.

.98 cents for a one pound package or the typical .12 oz pack? I’m afraid I wouldn’t even eat that really cheap white bread. A friend of mine told me he gave a loaf of that to his chickens once and they wouldn’t eat it. Chickens eat anything.
