Tammy Bruce Resigns GoProud
Redstate ^ | 2/12/11 | Ben Howe

Tammy Bruce, columnist, radio host & conservative gay activist, announced on her website today that she will resign her position as advisory board member to GoProud.

I want to let you know that after being a supporter and serving as Chair of the Advisory Board since May of 2010, I gave Chris Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia my resignation Saturday night. If you search GOProud here at the blog you’ll see the affection with which I’ve held both Chris and Jimmy, and I wish them well.

I spoke with Tammy at the CPAC convention and when asked for comment on the reason for her departure she had no comment except to reiterate her position from the website that she,”looks forward to working with conservatives across the spectrum on issues that matter to all of us.”

I didn’t go look back at 26, but Cameron Diaz is not qualified to be President of the United States in 2012.

US Senate at best. At Best. She’ll need some political experience to win the Republican Presidential Nomination.

I believe she thought go proud was probably a place for gay conservatives. She finds out it’s more gay than conservative. She’s not a rube, she just jumped on a bandwagon too soon and changed her mind.

I agree. Both Camille Paglia and Tammy Bruce are wonderful. I know Tammy becomes discouraged when an organization she supports (NOW & GOPROUD) becomes exposed as just another political cabal. I love her because she always admits her disappointment and publicly leaves.

Paglia is just a friggin' hoot.

Camille Paglia! Yes, it hurts to read her because she has a ruthless rapier that skews both sides, but she is a smart lady.

I like Palin, and I like Ron Paul. Basically, I prefer Ron Paul on the issues, and I think Palin is more electable, probably the most electable of all Republican candidates.

Ron Paul and Palin are very different folks especially in the realm of a strong defense. He pretty usually sticks to the classic Libertarian stance and as this, his work keeps this front and center. I do not believe Ron is or has ever been a "serious" Presidential candidate, but his presence in Presidential politics has been enormously beneficial.

Where as McCain was mavericky by his RINO tendencies, Palin is mavericky by her Libertarian tendencies.

The important thing is that Palin unlike all of the Establishment candidates will not freeze Paul out of shaping policy.

dalight, pissant is the Tina Fey of Free Republic. He’s made his reputation off of Sarah Palin and, by golly, he’s gonna enjoy it.

When you ask pissant to source his complaints about Palin he usually posts links to his own opinion.

LOL, funny but not true at all. He has done some great work in the past and has more than held his own. This most recent thing is an aberration.

I maintain it is true. Pissant was okay in the past but not very noticeable. Now everyone knows him because of his Sarah obsession.

the same is true of Tina Fey. She was in a mildly popular sit com and did some SNL stuff but no one had really heard of her until her Palin impressions.

So I stand by my post.

Perhaps, normally he just doesn't source. But, in this thread he did source a few posts so this is an improvement. Now if we can get him not to quote out of context, it will be another step into the light.

Well, perhaps this is true, but this is one of those cases where perhaps loose lips sink ships.. you will just encourage him. Arrg.

that’s always wise (ha).

Anyway, it’s true that I only vaguely remember pissant from the past, but it may just be my memory. I’ve been here a long time and only a few posters stand out to me.

My problem with him now is that by pettifoging the Palin discussions, he cheapens any meaningful analysis of her positions and chances.

I’m all for Palin to run. I think she could win. And he’s just fanning the flames of Palin hatred which is both incomprehensible and detrimental to our cause.

That way lies ruin and another McCain nomination (ie Romney, Huckabee, etc.)

I like Jim DeMint and I like Michele but I want someone with both charisma and the courage to fight and not take any stuff off anybody and not worry about the ‘with all due respect’ crap.

Precisely. This is why I shifted from the position that he is performing a service to the stance that he has begun to act, seem, effect FR as a Troll when my experience/memory of him has been as a fairly serious person.

But, this PDS stuff has made him a joke and his points a joke so that he ends up doing more damage to his position than good. Worse, he has moved to some fairly intellectually dishonest tactics to make his points and that impacts us all.

There is a great value to being a contrarian, but a great responsibility just the same, and pissant is being irresponsible.

We are blessed with a whole number of rising stars among them DeMint and Bachmann but certainly many others as well. This is a great thing for the future, because they provide great leadership and are building a team that can support conservative principles all of the way from election to action, which is what ultimately counts.

A President by themselves is not much. This person needs to have an administration committed to the needs of this nation and a Congress that is capable of getting its work done without being side tracked, corrupted, or co-opted into the quagmire that Washington has become.

The only PDS sufferers are those afflicted with a malady known as Palin Deification syndrome.

Symptoms include refusing to call amnesty amnesty when she, like McCain, tells America that illegal aliens need to register so they can stay and work. Also, thinking she doesn’t support Cap and Trade even though she directed her Global Warming task force to find ways to enter a regional greenhouse gas cap and trade system and answered “I do I do” when Gwen Ifil asked her if she supported caps on carbon emissions. And perhaps worst, is the ferocious spinning that the LOST, which Palin ignorantly cheer-led for, is anything but a disgusting, vile, sovereignty usurping POS treaty.

A course in reading comprehension is recommended for those with PDS.

I was feeling charitable toward you earlier today, but saw you were up to your old tricks just the same. It seems like you go to "Think Progress" alot for your fodder to make lies and distortions about Sarah Palin and you sound alot like these folks just the same, which is why I have decided you have worn out your welcome.

It is abundantly clear from her record that she does not support Cap and Trade which she spend much time deriding in the past two years so hearkening back once again to the McCain Presidential campaign where she had a program to support that was not necessarily her own is just more examples of the paucity of your reasoning and the vacuousness of your argument. You are stuck repeating smears authored by the left in an attempt to damage Sarah Palin and you by your own actions place yourself with these people.

Over the last two years, it has become clear to many if not most that the media and scientists involved in the Global Warming Hoax had lied and defrauded the public and created an environment where this crap was echoed by almost everyone. It reminds one of the situation that still exists with respect to Obama's missing records that somehow are a matter of privacy when Senator Ryan's divorce papers were a necessary part of the public record. There is such a thing as insanity, and group think and people get that, but, you are not serving the truth, but rather attempting to focus and fixate on the loose threads of a tapestry while ignoring the overall pattern. Ultimately, you must find yourself disappointed because no one who exists in the real world can make you happy. So you howl at the moon. Its embarrassing.

Every word I said is the absolute irrefutable truth. It’s EASY to NOT SUPPORT Obama’s cap and trade. McCain doesn’t. Newt doesn’t, Huck doesn’t. And Palin doesn’t. But all four were believers in the snake oil before Obama was elected and before ClimateGate.

It’s EASY to call East Anglia’s research “snake oil” after their emails were leaked to the world. But just as that retard Gingrich sat smugly on his loveseat with Pelosi and told us how important it is for us to deal with global warming crisis, Palin was nearly as dumb about it.

From her official charter creating a sub-cabinet group on global warming, this is part of what she directed them to do:

10. Opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emmissions from Alaskan sources, including the expanded use of alternative fuels, energy efficiency, renewable energy, land use management and transportation planning.

12. The Opportunites to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the operations of State Government.

13. The opportunities for Alaska to particpate in carbon trading markets, including the offering of carbon sequestration.

For your information, “carbon trading markets” are part of cap and trade. There is NO reason to “trade” if there is NO CAP.

http://www.climatestrategies.us/library/view/638

Here is what she said about global warming in her book, AFTER the election was long over.

“That’s the part CBS left in. They edited out a discussion of the need to wean ourselves off hydrocarbons and a call for America to stop spending billions of dollars on foreign oil when we could be investing it at home. Did Katie think Americans wouldn’t be interested to know that I was in favor of alternative energy sources and reducing our carbon footprint?” - Sarah Palin, Going Rogue, pages 272-273

Now why on earth would we need to “wean ourselves off hydrocarbons” and be “reducing our carbon footprint” if she didn’t believe in the evils of man-made CO2 causing global warming?

Notice, no quotes from that dreaded period during which you all claim she was lying through her teeth - Sept to Nov 2008 - when she was supposedly only shilling for McCain.

After East Anglia’s ClimateGate is when she started sounding like a conservative for a change. Too bad. Just as Palinistas do not cut Romney slack for saying he now opposes abortion and gay marriage, or Rudy for saying he now is a staunch supporter of the 2nd amendment, or Huck for saying in his 2008 campaign that he detests amnesty and is for deporting illegals, or Tpaw’s massive flip on global warming, now calling cap and trade a “disaster”, I’ve no intention of accepting only what Palin says NOW, as she is gearing up for her own run at POTUS.

It seems like you go to “Think Progress”

I may have once or twice in my 9 years here. However, you make the same ignorant mistake that so many Palin fans make here. That I’m somehow attacking her from the left. When you find any left winger, anywhere, who bemoans her support for LOST, amnesty, TitleIX, or any other issue I raise, then by all means post it.
