gee , protectionism kept jobs within your own country, how is that a failure??
do you have some historical evidence of protectionism working? If not, I’d suggest you not talk about in ‘factual’ tones, but the “wish” voice protectionists always talk in. (doesn’t work in real life, never has, never will)
