If I remember correctly, the Miami Heat lost the first 17 games of their existence, when they joined the league in 1988. Their first victory as a franchise was against...
BIIIIIIIIIIINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
The Los Angeles Clippers.
Recall that the expansion Miami Heat, who first played in the 1988-89 season (Rony Seikaly, anyone?) lost their first (of 17 straight games) to the Clippers.
Miami's first win of their franchise was against the Clippers at the L.A. Sports Arena, 89-88, on December 14, 1988.
Seems like the Clippers are always giving up games to teams that have huge losing streaks. Yep sounds like the Clippers alright. My cousin turned into a Clipper homer many years ago, decided to root for the underdog..the Clippers are always going to be terrible as long as Donald Sterling is the owner of the team. He is a major douchebag. He owns many apartment buildings here, my sister used to rent in one of his buildings, TERRIBLE landlord, so she moved out. If only Baron Davis had come to the Lakers, well, the Clippers were screwed when Elton Brand abandoned the team to go to Philly, if that team had stayed in tact anything could have happened, now, the Clippers will never make it to the playoffs, not til real changes are made
