Black Eyed Peas underwhelm at halftime.(Everyone agrees they stank)

On second thought, maybe Usher should have been the headliner for the Super Bowl halftime show.

The superstar had only a brief cameo in the showcase, but his tightly choreographed moves and acrobatics marked the brief exhilarating moment of a surprisingly stale medley from the normally frenetic headliners, the Black Eyed Peas.

The Super Bowl performance was arguably the biggest stage yet for the quirky quartet, whose fusion of pop, dance and hip-hop have made them global superstars. But in the massive Cowboys Arena, the group appeared to be as stiff as frontman will.i.am's plastic hair hat.

Not sure what it is.

Be assured that it is music. It's a broad category. Overarching. I always think of that Albert Schweitzer documentary I saw one time that featured a pygmy woman who wandered in out the forest and danced to the electric generator for two days before she dropped. Well, I know what you might say! "An electric generator maybe, but the Blackeyed Peas ? ..."

Anyway, I was out for pizza as I mentioned, but I do catch the Blackeyed Peas on my XM Alt Nation channel. I get them confused with the White Stripes, which I think I heard just broke up. Oh noes!

When I saw the people with cubes on their head I immediately thought of this guy. The Unknown Comic from the Gong Show.

The dancers probably had the head boxes in their contract. They didn't want any evidence that it was them involved with this circus act.

One: "Hello Operator". However, I also enjoyed the Liam Lynch ( of "My United States of Whatever" fame ) lampoon, "Fake White Stripes song". Hilarious! Thanks, internet!

Maybe they had an Obama supporter handling the bookings, and when they booked the red-hot chili peppers, she somehow screwed up the specifics and arrangements, and wala,,,she accidently booked the Black Eyed Peas thinking they were actually the same group(chili-peppers)who changed their name a few years ago. Only a staunch Obama supporter could of screwed a half time show this bad!

Good God...These ugly tattooed sports ‘stars today are unreal. These poor kids stuck with this slum ghetto crap? Sad beyond belief. Hard to think about it huh?. Okay, old timer gripe is done....but boy it was a better place then...

The nice thing about it is that 111 million people watched this disaster. I hope that this will mark the end of these dopes a la Milli Vanilli. A guy can dream can't he?

You are dead on here. I was just thinking that this Half Time nonsense wasn’t around when I was a kid. I was right. They were always college marching bands. It wasn’t until the Clinton era we got this schlock. That is also when football turned into street thug theater.

For any of the curious, here is a list of the acts through the years.

I don’t know the XM Alt Nation channel, but it’s unlikely you are getting the White Stripes (a good band) confused with Black Eyed Peas (a terrible joke).

It is more likely you are getting the White Stripes confused with the Black Keys (a good band). The White Stripes and the Black Keys have a decent number of similarities. 2 piece, Detroit, bluesy playing.

‘______hold the p impulse better than that.’

There's all sorts of absorbent pads to be had.
Is she into some bathroom shtick or something- - ?

I often think of Depends and other products selling off the shelves for those day-long rallies and marches in D.C. and around the country.
Solves some of the smaller ‘accident’ problems until a bathroom can be found.
Nothing wrong with that!

The Paul McCartney SB halftime show was the biggest bore of all. This year was bad but the lighting and special effects was OK. Singing was horrible.

“The people in the white costumes and cubes on their heads made me laugh”

Maybe they represented an LSD trip.

I HATE this group. They ruined the Superbowl for me. I found them so boring that I fell asleep during halftime. When I woke up again, it was 11 O'clock and the game was OVER. I never heard of them before and if I hear of them again, it will be too soon.

BTW, does anybody actually BUY their albums? Sans the techo BS show they put on they have NOTHING going for them.

WORST half time show ever!

In this case it afforded me plenty of time to run out for some frozen pizza, so I was well pleased.

I hope you picked up DiGiorno's pizza at Walgreens which was BETTER than FREE. In fact, they paid me to eat their pizza. We had a freezer full of them for Superbowl for our guests. Of course, they were too polite to wake me up during the halftime show and let me sleep thru the rest of the game.

It was 3rd rate. A garage band could have done better. Everywhere now, in commercials, sports events, programming, we are bombarded with this rap, hip hop non-music. I listen to a classic rock station on the commute to work. I have to listen to rap on the Wendy's and McDonald commercials. I realize they are targeting kids, but how many are listening to classic rock. The audience for the Super Bowl was what percentage 15-25? Maybe 5%...

I hate it!

Mike
