In the main, I’m with the employer.
BUT...set up plenty of video monitors and/or BLASTING radio reports of
the Super Bowl game for general morale.
I’ve never worked in a steel plant, but it looks like a VERY challenging
environment. But a positive outcome from the morally-questioned
quarterback for the Steelers might just be the thing for work-place morale.
Just my naive/inexpert opinion (IMHO)
(I recall my father’s work in an oil refinery about 50 years ago
and how nasty the work could be.)
That's pretty much how I see it.
And as the article states, there are always people who aren't football fans. The die-hard fans can probably make shift-trade deals so that their position is covered and they can enjoy the game.
The military is allowing late reporting on Monday for non-essentials because the game is at around 3:00 a.m. here.
