This burial is one I remember reading about now. That mummy of the screaming baby is the tip off - that child was buried alive.

The mummified woman everyone is talking about was a Celtic witch, even buried wearing a pointed hat. The witch was accompanied in her grave by two sacrificial victims: another woman, who was murdered, and an infant buried alive with the witch.

Where did they come from?

When the Old Euxine Lake was flooded by the Mediterranean Sea some 7,500 years ago (it was renamed the New Euxine Sea by the ancients and is known today as the Black Sea), the people living around that lake were forced to migrate in all directions of the compass.

The ancient Celts were a major group that were displaced. Celts are found in a southeastern part of Turkey, they migrated across Europe all the way to the Atlantic, and migrated to the east as far as the western deserts of China.

That is why a caucasian witch wearing a pointed hat is found buried in an central east Asian desert along with sacrificial victims. Now you know the stories about witches stealing children originates far in the past and the why of such acts.
