I haven’t examined it closely enough to know.

If it's a hoax it's an elaborate one ~ not quite like that "flying" pointer from a postal fan scale that was all the rage last year.

More recently there've been the supposed missiles swirling out of control (at night), and so on.

The problem is I knew about this particular phenomenon from OLD TYME STUFF from the early middle ages ~ so "what is it"?
