Flyover country is routinely ignored except for dramatic tornado footage. I’m in the Tulsa OK vicinity and this storm is likely going to result in a new record snowfall amount. We are also experiencing wind gusts up to 40mph causing drifts and whiteouts. Traffic is at a standstill, including emergency services. State troopers are resorting to driving their personal 4WD vehicles in order to get around to stranded motorists and the National Guard is assisting by moving them to shelters.
