1) It’s the iPhone 4, not iPhone 4G. The iPhone 4 is only 3G.

2) Check out the Droid Bionic if you’re willing to wait a bit.

I am in NM but I travel quite a bit and I can tell you that my blackberry through my employer is Sprint while my personal phone is a Droid through Verizon.

The vast majority of the places I travel I find that I have more coverage, more places on Verizon and I also have better quality service from Verizon. With Sprint I get a lot of calls that don’t go through, don’t even ring and disconnects.

I travel extensively in AZ, CO, TX, NM, CA and lately Western NE and Western KS.

Not sure if it helps you but I love my Droid and that’s by HTC.

IF you can get these two phones for “$115 total for the both of us”, then do it.

Is this the upfront cost? I know it’s not your monthly plan.

I have Sprint’s everything data plan. But not the 4G. That costs even more.

The HTC Evo is an Android OS phone and a good one. I would suggest an Android phone over the iphone. Android is now outselling the iphone. I’m on my third Android phone (the HTC Incredible on Verizon). I upgrade about every 9 months and I love the Android OS.

Verizon has many Android OS phones if you want to stay on Verizon. But hint hint, Sprint’s network coverage is still not as good as Verizon’s.

Good luck.

Before touching Sprint, see if you can borrow a phone from them for a couple of days, especially if you are not in a major metro area. They have a pretty small footprint compared to some of the other companies. Speed doesn’t mean much if you don’t have a good network signal. In most cities in this test, Verizon’s 3G beat Sprint’s 4G.

I got an htc, had it for a week and turned it in, could not type on the damn thing. Got a droid, with slide type pad, I like it, just wish the auto word correct worked better. Every time I type droid it changes it to druid.

The Samsung Epic 4G is better than the HTC Evo 4G. It has a real slide out keyboard in addition to the Android emulated keyboard with Swype and it has 5 rows of real keys compared to the Evo Shift's 4. The screen is just a little smaller than the Evo, but much larger than the Evo Shift.

If it’s about cost, go cheap.

I don’t have a cell phone, I don’t do facebook and my wife and I don’t have heated discussions. I listen to what she has to say, then we do what I want
My opinion: it’s a telephone. Tell your wife to get what she wants, then to go fetch you a beer.

I have an EVO 4G and my wife has the Epic 4G.....LOVE THEM. If you do a lot of tying, go with the Epic - learn to Swype. I have a real hard time on the EVO. Google interface is flawless. The Android OS ROCKS. Battery life on both if fairly short - expect to charge twice a day under heavy useage. 4G connectivity comes in real handy - both phones can support WiFI hot spots. Wife and I both used Blackberries for years; we’ll never go back

No experience with Apple other than my kids’ iPod Touch. I’d rather take a swift one to he groin than deal with Aplle’s store.....C

I got the HTC EVO 4G about a month ago and love it. The only downside is the fact that it goes through a charge pretty quickly, but you can turn off services when not in use.

I have used AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and MetroPCS. Verizon is by far the best as far as coverage and I never had a dropped call. T-mobile is great if you travel internationally. I currently have T-Mobile and can’t get reception in my home office or back yard.

As far as a phone, I still have a flip phone for about a month so I too am interested in others opinions.
