I know him from The Tudors. I liked him in that and I think he has the right "look" for a Superman role.

An englishman playing Superman?! What next an American playing a samurai!?

Looks a little pudgy to me.
Nice looking guy though.
Never heard of him.

In today's world, classically good looking men are automatically labeled gay. Don't know if that's the case with him

Well...Sherlock Holmes was portrayed by Robert Downey, Jr. Maybe we owed them one...

When I was around 10 years old a local grocer allowed me to borrow comic books as long as I returned them in like new condition.
Superman and Superboy were my favorites. I loved the 1950’s TV show and thought the first Superman movie with Reeves was pretty good tho they got worse as others were made.
When “Smallville” came on, I thought it was the best of all the Superman genres. It stayed that way for maybe 3 or 4 seasons then began to get worse. There were still a lot of good episodes but also a lot which were almost unwatchable.
When they did one in which they promoted illegal immigrants I quit watching. Every now and then I would watch one for a few minutes but they were invariably poor.
I saw just a bit of the last season and it had deteriorated to just plain bad.
Maybe this new movie will be good but I would not bet on it.

I agree; we’re big fans of The Tudors here, and I think he’s great for that role. Let’s see who directs and what the screenplay looks like, but HC is a good choice...

Maybe this new movie will be good but I would not bet on it. Christopher ('Dark Knight') Nolan? I'm not worried...

*THUD*!!! He is why I kept tuning in to watch the Tudor’s. Charles Brandon never looked so good. Congrats to Henry. This will be one Superman movie I will not miss.

Looks like an EXCELLENT choice. (Before I saw the picture thought they had chosen a whimp)

"I know him from The Tudors."
Just re-watched the third season last night. I thought he did a decent job as Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk.

A friend of mine trained Reeve for the first movie — in London. So even that Superman had British roots.
