I’m glad he’s running Gunsmoke in order. Tonight’s was #3 and Ed mentioned next week would be #5.

I didn’t like the “resolution” of Fibber and Molly.
Instead of fighting the unjust fine, they caved. Lesson: don’t resist the government when it is out of line; just go along to get along, and pay what they tell you, regardless of whether you owe it or not.

Did Mr. Walker really say of Ms. Margaret Whiting, “We celebrated her demise last week”?
I heard Mr. Walker say “We...her demise last week,” but husband Keith said he heard Mr. Walker say “We celebrated her demise...”
If so, that was a really unfortunate choice of words on Mr. Walker’s part!

I think he did say We celebrated her demise..., but I don’t remember what happened last week.

We refreshed it a few times, and it came back up at the point where she went to the party, but it would stop.
We just refreshed it again, and it took up at a later point in the story, so we’ve missed a chunk.

Why would they “celebrate” anyone’s demise? Bummer!

I was curious as to what Ed actually said as We celebrated her demise last week? would certainly be awkward phraseology. I was thinking he might have meant something on the order of "We celebrated her life on the occasion of her demise."
Almost always when Ed's "Big Broadcast" originally airs on Sunday evening I'm just monitoring the show as there is usually some sports event which has my primary attention.
During the following week I listen to "The Big Broadcast" a program or two at a time. I've reached the point in the show that you referenced. What Ed said was, "... Guests are Jack Benny, Ralph Edwards and vocalist Margaret Whiting. You know we paid a tribute to her last week on her recent demise."
This week my favorite team is in the Super Bowl so I might not even be monitoring "The Big Broadcast".

I’m glad you caught that! That makes more sense. I couldn’t imagine him saying that. Thank you for letting us know.
We will not be here on Sunday. We’ll be at our neighbors’ house Super Bowling it, as well.
