What I like about this book is his use of studies from people who use the eat less/excercise more advice; yet, their very own studies show that neither works.
Hubby and I know we have to do this; but, neither of us likes eating like this. Yes, we lose weight, but he likes my garlic mashed potatoes and I like pasta and we both like pizza. Sigh. I know he's right; but it is difficult to do.
Yes. You CAN cheat a little, but the problem is that it's like a drunk---first you say, oh this brownie won't hurt. And it won't. But if you're like me, it's soon, "Oh, this afternoon brownie snack won't hurt before a dinner with lots of pasta and after a lunch with two slices of bread."
Again, if you haven't seen his bigger book, "Good Calories, Bad Calories," it's got far more studies.
